Carl Whetham–disability represented in another place

I came across the work of Carl Whethan today spent an hour or so exploring his blog.  He is based in Almaty, Kazakhstan and documenting the lives of some disabled people there as part of his photography degree.

The fact that the social and physical environment is so different to South London grabbed my interest from the start. Of course there are differences:

  • Carl’s approach is to document others whereas mine has been to express something of me
  • Carl uses a realistic visual approach whereas much of my work is formal in its construction

Do go and look at his work
